The best person to apply the kinesiology tape is a specialist – a physiotherapist or massage therapist. However, if you have carefully studied the principles of taping, you can successfully do it yourself. The aim of taping is to restore, strengthen and promote the physiological movement of muscles and joints without restricting them.

• Identify a sore or damaged muscle
• Thoroughly clean and dry the selected area
• Choose the right width: 7.5 cm for back muscles, 5 cm for other areas
• Round the ends of the tape to make it last longer
• Tighten the muscle, but not the tape itself – apply to the tight spot
• After application, rub the tape to activate the adhesive
• If applied correctly, the tape will form wrinkles when the muscle relaxes
• The tape remains effective for 3-5 days

When applied correctly, the tape lifts the skin and creates space between it and the deeper tissues, promoting lymphatic circulation and the natural healing process. The heat-activated adhesive allows the skin to breathe, so allergic reactions are rare. It is recommended to remove the tape immediately if skin irritation or rashes are noticed.
